Welcome 2014!

We allowed ourselves to take a break from house work over the past two weeks to spend time with family and friends. We both had off December 19th to January 2nd, so it felt good to spend so much time together. The big renovations (painting and floors) are mostly wrapped up and we are very comfortable in our little house. We started our time off in Kutztown, where we enjoyed country runs and lots of good food and family.

Christmas Eve Jingle Bell Run

We usually spend Christmas eve with Andrew's family and head to Kutztown Christmas morning but this year we had a trip planned to Pittsburgh on the 26th so we switched up our plans. It was a lot of running around but so nice to spend the time with the people we love.

Christmas eve at Grandma's house

It was a really nice Christmas, filled with some awesome Christmas presents for the house. We stopped by my Aunt Hallie and Uncle Larry's house for about an hour before having to head out to join Andrew's family.

Merry Christmas!

The poor cats were alone for the week so we made a special trip to Philadelphia on Christmas day to give them our love.

Haughton Family Christmas Card

Next we headed to West Chester to do Christmas dinner and presents with Andrew's family. Again, it was so nice being with the whole family at this special time of year!

My family :)

After eating and drinking everything, we headed to Pittsburgh to visit Andrew's grandmother. I booked us a hotel at the Sheraton using points and we had a beautiful view of the city.

Pittsburgh!

Andrew's whole family made the trip to Pittsburgh and we haven't been all together in a long time so it was really fun to be together.

The whole Haughton clan

It was a quick trip to Pittsburgh and we were so excited to head back to Philly and have a week at home. Although 2013 was a great year for us, I am so excited for 2014 and everything it has to bring. I am so lucky to have such a great husband and friend to live this crazy life with and I'm so excited for all the adventures to come!

Happy new year!
