Beachin'

Since our kitchen was delayed until August, we decided to spend the past two weekends at the beach with friends. There was a lot of food, drinking, dancing and beaching... and absolutely no house work, but it was a fun way to spend the hot summer days!

Lots of fun with the Bradleys!

Meanwhile, there are some serious changes happening in our neighborhood. The first and closest is the construction of the house across the street. This house was completely torn down in February and has seen no action since. In the past two weeks they have completely dug out the basement and put up the frame.

Next, the empty, creepy garages at the end of our street are finally up for sale - for $410K each or $2.05M for a package of five lots! Carpenter Street could use some serious love so we are hoping this will be the first of many rehabs on our block.

Finally, our biggest and most exciting project is a few blocks down the street at Broad and Washington. The lot has been empty for over a decade and they are finally making plans to turn it into a South Philly "piazza", similar to the popular Northern Liberties venue. The current empty lot is very depressing so we are hoping that whatever goes in here will be done well and bring the neighborhood back to life!

We are finally back to house work next weekend and plan to make some serious moves. Stay tuned and happy 4th :)
